Airplane Safety Instructions

The on board safety instruction card is something that every single person that's been in a plane before will be familiar with, whether they read every time they fly or just remember the simple instructions on it, every passenger seat has one and itre used intentionally around the world.

Orignally i planned to create and make a layout in this format but but i decided that was a bit to common and knew that i could display the information in a more unique and easier format.
The most challengeing and difficult part of this process was to draw the people as Illustrator isn't known for it's amazing drawing skills none the less I managed to cope.

The most tricky part of the whole plane instructions was making this person.

i tried to keep the color use to a minimum andnoly use were necessary because the research indicated that minimal colour helps keeps the information from being a second second interest..

The layout was designed to show what to do in case the plane starts to go down, gets hit or suffers from some bad turbulence. .

As you can see I decided to use the same colour scheme that I used for the boarding pass, to not only keep it uniform but also so that they can be recognized and affiliated with the airline.

here you can see the fished product without it's red text body, I felt it necessary ot make include the red backgrounds because it' gives it a finsihed feel and adds to the professionalism of the product.

Here is the final product, I felt the previous version was missing a few things and as such went back to add them, the languages used English, Spanish, Maori and Chinese I choose these languages because they're the top three most commonly used languages and Maori is New Zealand's second language.  The layout wa composed in a manner as to quickly, simply and effectively show passengers what to do is the plane has an accident.

Plane Livery

simple red and white design, easily recognizable and definitely stands out.

Plane Luggage Tags

Initially i looked into how how these luggage tags work and there are two types one is the sticker version and the second is a string version, I decided to go with the string as it looks more professional and and i saw a way to incorporate my logo into it.

Creation of the layout additions to colour scheme and placement.

Trying out and deciding which colour shceme works out and to see whih is best suited with the rest of the work.

Mix and matching my two favourite outcome to create and a company colour scheme which ties in with the Plane ticket and logo. I rather like the way i've incorporated the logo into the luggage tags without making it to obvious but ofcourse noticable enough.

Plane Ticket

Plane tickets aren't rwally printed out anymore thye go for a simple inform ative internet print form layout now adays which can still be applied with my work howver i wanted to make it look more impressive and as such as created both sides and in the formate of an old plane ticket.

the begins of the plane ticket, bringing in all the elements such as logo, type and barcode.
Finished elements but I found the red background too dorminating;

Final finished design, I feel thast this plane ticket design is my best work of the whole because to me at least it looks professional and authentic.

Website Banners/Ads

In this banner I was trying to convey the message that my airline Aotearoa was the best option and seeing how layout changed my opinion on the advertisment and worked worked well and what didn't.
the banner was simply put together as often when viewing random webpages you will see a pretty blank and plain logo/brand banner which is often to related to site you're on and is intriquing enough for you to want to click on it.

My final and chosen banner is this one. The message I wanted to get across was that this is a great airline, look how relaxing, peaceful and beautiful or plan journeys are and it's cheap! i decided to keep the airline logo and name out of it and simply let the hyperlinks (hypothetically) do there work.

This banner is another twist on the previous one, I played around with various slogans to try and get one that works well.

Airline Uniform Designs

Airline uniforms, and uniforms in general are all rather similar and
cliche but there's a reason for that, simple, straight forward and presentable
clothes are what a uniform aims to do. With the added bonus of being
able to stand out from a crowd and ber identified with a place/company/
group or person.

I tried to keep it simple, I just wanted to make a bright, simple and appealing
to hopefully the eye uniform. In future I'd prefer to Photoshop or doodle as
it'd be easier to curve and make the objects look more lifelike.

I modeled of using basic standing positions and modeled the clothes aound there, I then had to separate each part of the clothes and work on them and thus joining them together to create a whole piece of clothing.

Brande concept for the steward and stewardess uniform, displaying the logo of the company on the front and the back. final chosen design.

Logo Development & Initial ideas

As part of the branding project you have to make an
icon, logo or image that can represent your company
simply and quickly. In my research I looked at things
from each nation, country and culture and for
New Zealand nothing stood out more than the Kiwi.

Initial logo ideas.

I began playing around with the idea of a Kiwi logo, looking at various images of Kiwi's

Throughout the development stage i was tweaking the body to try and make it smoother whilst seeing what colour schemes worked.

Text experiments.

After trying numerous fonts, typefaces, layouts and font sizes I finally came upon the right font and started to put it together but something was missing so I added in shell icon t the logo and thought it worked so well that I'd also include  it in the type as well.

Finished logo design, chosen colours that stand out, easily recognizable and be transferred to multiple platforms and backgrounds without getting too lost.

Mood Boards & Visual Images

In this part of the project i had to iidentify and think of key aspects of each region inwhich the airline would be working in whether it be cultural, , geographical or media related.
